Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use the CodeVerse Hub website, Discord server, and open-source repositories.
By joining The CodeVerse Hub Discord server, using this website, or contributing to our repositories, you agree to the terms below. They exist to keep the community safe, fair, and open.
1. The Basics
- The CodeVerse Hub ("TCVH", "we", "us") is a community-run open-source developer community. We are not a company; our services are run by volunteer moderators and maintainers.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Discord server, in line with Discord's Terms of Service. If you are under the age of consent in your country, parental permission may be required.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the community to:
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone.
- Post spam, scams, malicious code, or illegal content.
- Impersonate staff members or other members.
- Attempt to access, exploit, or damage infrastructure you do not own.
- Submit malicious pull requests or deliberately break repositories.
Our Community Guidelines and Rules describe expected behaviour in detail.
3. Content You Post
- You retain ownership of content you post to the Discord or the website.
- By posting in public channels, you grant the community a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and reproduce that content within the community (for example, quoting it in documentation or announcements).
- When you contribute code to our repositories, you do so under the license stated in that repository (MIT or GPL unless noted otherwise). By opening a pull request, you confirm the code is your own work or is appropriately licensed.
4. Our Projects & This Website
- Our repositories and this website are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the website, the Discord server, or our software.
- We may update, archive, or remove projects, features, or pages at any time.
5. Moderation & Enforcement
- Moderators enforce the rules at their discretion, in line with our moderation guide.
- We may warn, mute, kick, or ban members who violate these terms. Severe or repeated violations may lead to a permanent ban.
- You may appeal a ban using the ban appeal form.
6. Privacy
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. In short: we store only what is necessary to run the community, and we never sell your data.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the community evolves. Significant changes will be announced in the Discord. Continued use of the community after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
